Sub: Upper age limit for direct recruitment to non-gazetted posts on the Railways.

Reference has been received from one of the zonal railways, seeking clarification, whether Board's
instructions contained in the letter of even number dated 21.02.2018 (RBE No.25/2018), regarding relaxation of upper age limit are applicable in the case of engagement of substitutes or otherwise.
The matter has been looked into and it is clarified that relaxation in upper age limit provided vide RBE No.25/2018 are also applicable in the case of engagement of substitutes.

Subject: Reservation for Ex-servicemen in direct recruitment Group 'C' posts - Regarding

Reference is invited to the reservation, concessions and relaxations applicable for ex-Servicemen in Central Government Services (Group 'C' posts). The Government of India has been issuing instructions from time to time for filling up of vacancies under prescribed quota reserved for ex-servicemen category. In this regard the DoPT has issued compendium of instruction on reservations for Ex-servicemen - consolidation of instructions vide OM. No.3603/4/3/2013-Estt.(Res.) dated 25th February, 2014.

All Pr.CCA.s/CCAs/CAs (with independent charge) are therefore requested to ensure that the provisions/ rules for Ex-servicemen notified under Ex-servicemen (Re-employment in Central Services and Posts) Rules. 1979. as amended from time to time are being properly followed up/implemented while forwarding of vacancies or direct recruitment posts to this office for consolidation. The non-implementation of reservations prescribed for ex-servicemen shall be treated as violation of Govt. of India's instructions on the subject.

Sub: Timely and advance action in filling up of the Direct Recruitment (DR) vacancies.

The undersigned is directed to refer to this Departments OM No.22011/1/2011-Estt.(D) dated 27.10.2016 regarding timely and advance action in convening of Departmental Promotion Committee meeting in terms of Model Calendar and to request that advance action may be taken by the Ministries/Departments /and their Attached and Subordinate Offices of the Government of India, etc for reporting vacancy position w.r.t. Direct Recruitment (DR) posts also to the concerned recruitment agencies i.e. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and Staff Selection Commission (SSC) etc. for filling up of such Direct Recruitment vacancies in a timely manner.
